This page is maintained by Help To Buy Mobility ("we", "us", "our") to explain how we collect, use and share information when you use our website at helptobuymobility.com (the "Site") and check your eligibility for funding towards a mobility product.
1. Who we are
Help To Buy Mobility operates a privately funded incentive scheme that contributes towards the cost of mobility products. We are not a retailer and we do not sell or install products ourselves. Products are supplied by independent accredited partners.
2. Information we collect
When you complete the eligibility form, we collect the information you provide, including:
- Contact details (name, email address, phone number, address and postcode)
- Enquiry details (the product you're interested in, the condition affecting your mobility, the difficulties you experience, your preferred timescale and whether you have a healthy credit file)
- Any free-text description of your medical condition that you choose to give us
- Your consent to be contacted
We also automatically collect limited technical and marketing information, including:
- Device type, browser and approximate location derived from your IP address
- Pages viewed, referring URL and which landing page variant you saw
- UTM parameters and advertising click identifiers
3. Special category data
Information about your health is "special category" personal data under UK GDPR. We only collect it because it is necessary to assess your eligibility, and we rely on your explicit consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.
4. How we use your information
- To assess whether you qualify for the funding
- To pass your enquiry to one accredited partner so they can arrange a home assessment
- To contact you about your application
- To measure marketing performance and improve the Site
- To comply with our legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse
5. Lawful bases
We rely on your consent for marketing communications and for processing health information, and on our legitimate interests in operating and improving the scheme for everything else.
6. How we share your information
We share your contact and enquiry details with the accredited partner matched to your application so they can arrange your home assessment. Partners are independent businesses and their handling of your information is also governed by their own privacy notices.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Site (for example hosting, database, analytics and email delivery), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Consent to be contacted
By submitting the form you agree that we and one accredited partner may contact you by phone, SMS or email using the details you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase and there is never an obligation to buy. You can opt out at any time by telling us or the partner, or by emailing privacy@helptobuymobility.com.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure traffic and understand how visitors use the Site, including through Google Tag Manager. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Data retention
We keep applications and related information for as long as needed to operate the scheme, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
10. Security
We use appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email privacy@helptobuymobility.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
12. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
